B-types－写真が写真自身を喰う」は私にとって日本で最初の一連の作品である。そのイメージは、写真、プリント、絵画、レイヤーを積み重ね、燃やすという自動破壊的な過程を生み出している。
作品は新しい風景の下、写真家がパフォーマンス的な性質を模索した。日本という慣れない環境の中で、フォトグラフィーがアイデンティティーを見つけ、確立する道具となる。この作業の痕跡として、イメージは絶え間ない変化、不確かさ、更新の過程を記した視覚的な記録となる。
写真は6週間以上の期間で撮影され、そのイメージは撮影場所ごとに保管された。また、編集、プリントは物理的にそれぞれ上に積み重ねられた。
ある部分はスプレーペイントによってマーキング、また強調されており、レイヤーとして積み重ねられたところは記録の視覚的な歴史が明らかになるまで剥がされ、燃やされた。残ったものは抽象的な形を成した状態で集められ、その過程のグラフィック・ドキュメントとして機能し、生き残った唯一のイメージとして佇む。

Tim Freeman was born in, Edmonton, Canada in 1978 and grew up in northern England. After Graduating from, Cardiff School of Art and Design MA course in 2001 he has gone on to exhibit widely in the UK and Europe as a digital and photographic artist. Awards:
1. 2009-2010: Welsh Artist of the Year.
2. 2009: Selected Artist, Northern Print Biennale. Selected alongside artists, Richard Hamilton, Louise bourgeois and Jim Dine. Laing Gallery, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
3. 2007: Winner of the 2007, Eisteddfod, National Arts Purchase Prize for Wales. A series of works bought and held in the National Collection of the Contemporary Art Society, Wales.
3. 2001: Selected student participant in the, European Public Arts Observatory, Porto, Portugal. Participant in a series of seminars incorporating, international architects, urban planners, artists, theorists and students, focusing on the integration of art into areas of urban deprivation and regeneration.
4. 2000. Winner of, Dulcie Mayne Stephens Award, (UWIC). This funded a research trip to study the Baroque Art and Architecture of Rome.
5. 1999. Participant on the “Making and Meaning” young painters course, Tate Britain, held in conjunction with the Jackson Pollock Retrospective. This culminated with an exhibition at the Letherby Gallery, Holborn, London.
